TVXQ merupakan singkatan dari Tong Vfang Xien Qi (bahasa Tionghoa:東方神起), adalah grup multi talenta asal Korea Selatan yang dibentuk pada tahun 2003 silam dibawah manajemen SM Entertainment yang merupakan manajemen raksasa di Seoul. Di Korea Selatan sendiri mereka dikenal dengan nama Dong Bang Shin Ki (bahasa Korea:동방신기), yang sering disingkat menjadi DBSK. Sementara di Jepang, mereka dikenal dengan nama Tohoshinki (bahasa Jepang:東方神起). Arti dari nama mereka dalam 3 bahasa semuanya berarti “Dewa-Dewa yang Terbit dari Timur”.
Grup ini memulai debut pada tahun 2003 dengan 5 anggota yang terdiri dari leader U-Know Yunho, Max Changmin, Hero Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, dan Xiah Junsu. Pada juli 2009 tiga anggota TVXQ (Jaejoong, Yoochun dan Junsu) menuntut manajemen Korea mereka, SM Entertainment ke meja pengadilan. Hal ini menyebabkan segala aktifitas publik setelah tahun 2009 terhenti. Setelah hiatus selama 2 tahun 3 bulan, TVXQ sementara kembali muncul ke dunia industri musik sebagai duo yang terdiri dari Yunho dan Changmin. Sementara anggota yang lainnya ikut membentuk sub-unit bernama JYJ yang diambil dari huruf depan nama mereka, Jaejoong, Yoochun dan Junsu.
Sejak kemunculan TVXQ merupakan salah satu artis Asia tersukses yang pernah ada. TVXQ telah diberi gelar sebagai “Bintang Asia” dan “Raja Korean Pop dan Hallyu Wave”. Semenjak debut mereka, TVXQ telah merilis 6 album Korea, 5 album Jepang, hingga lebih dari 20 single Korea dan 30 single Jepang. Berdasarkan tangga lagu musik Gaon, hingga maret 2012, TVXQ telah berhasil menjual lebih dari 10,1 juta kopi album, single, dan DVD selama karir mereka di Korea dan Jepang, dan ini belum termasuk penjualan album dari negara lainnya di Asia maupun International.
Selain menjadi artis Korea tersukses di Asia bahkan seluruh dunia. TVXQ telah memecahkan berbagai rekor serta memiliki dua fanclub resmi di Korea dan Jepang, yang dikenal baik dengan nama Cassiopeia dan BigEast, dimana fanclub ini tercatat dalam Guinness World Record pada tahun 2008 dengan jumlah anggotanya terbesar di seluruh dunia.
